I ran 4,652 miles in 2013, including 112 marathon+ distance runs. I've added a few graphs of my runs/week, mileage/day, & mileage/week, as well as some yearly statistics to http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Training_Macrolog

Hopefully this is a little off topic, but I've added an article on the Ketogenic Diet for cancer treatment. Most of the research we currently have is based on animal models, backed up with some case studies, but things look promising and there are human trials underway.

I’ve changed a few things in my VDOT calculator where it outputs the training programs.
- I added a section for Jack Daniels “plan to complete a marathon”. This is not a plan I recommend, but I included it for completeness.
- I corrected a bug where the long run times were calculated wrongly when metric units were selected.
- I believe that week 20 of Jack Daniels’ Plan A is wrong in the book. The book says 2E + 4x 5-6 min T + 10 miles or 80 min T + 4x 5-6 min T + 2E. That middle segment of 10 miles/80 minutes at Tempo makes no sense to me, and I believe it should be Easy pace, not Tempo pace. I’ve changed the calculator accordingly.

The effect of caffeine on heart rate is complex, but the pattern that appears from the available research is that caffeine tends to reduce heart rate at rest and during moderate exercise, but increases it at maximum intensities. By comparison, the effect on blood pressure is much clearer, showing a consistent increase. This increase can be excessive during exercise, raising the chance of pressures above 230 systolic or 120 diastolic, especially in those with hypertension. I've updated my page on MCT to include details of Ketone levels, calorific value, and more. It's still a 'skeleton' as I have not added the sections on athletic performance. Let me know what you think.
