I have a question about marathon tapering. Most people track their weekly mileage from Monday->Sunday and do their long run on the weekend. The race is also usually on the weekend. How many weekends before marathon weekend should I do my longest run? Should it be something like 19->20->22->16->26? or more like 20->22->18->16->26
I'm also usually confused about tapering because I'm not sure if the race itself is suppose to count in the week of reduced mileage. I assume that it is. 100->80->60 (including marathon?)
