The Morton Stretch

I learned a lot at the World Championships from watching some of the greatest ultrarunners in action. One of those lessons is the mid-run stretch that Mike Morton used repeatedly on his way to setting a new American Record. I've found that 'Doing The Morton' refreshes my legs and I use it on both races and tougher training runs. http://fellrnr.com/wiki/Morton_Stretch

It's singularly appropriate to publish this on Veterans Day, when we remember the sacrifice of our armed forces. Mike Morton is a career soldier, serving in the Navy before moving to the Army where he is a Master Sgt.

Vespa
